Paw Prints Newsletter:  Is published bimonthly and mailed to all SC families.  Its your lifeline to events at SCHS.   It contains important dates, and deadlines, notes and updates from various departments at school useful web sites, and educational articles for parents on issues concerning your students.  Look for it, read it, keep it.

PTO Web site:  We began working on the web site last year and it is now up and running.  You can access information on everything that PTO is involved with plus other events at school.  www.steelecanyonpto.net

Teacher/Staff Recognition:  Four times a year our hospitality chairperson and volunteers serve a luncheon here at school for teachers and staff to express our gratitude for their hard work.  As you can imagine, it is very well received.

Turning 18 Program:  Provides packets of information to students within a month of their 18th Birthday.  This packet includes a pamphlet entitled, "When you become 18", a Voter Registration form, and for young men a Selective Service System Registration Form.  Last school year approximately 325 students received one.  This year we project 500 students will turn 18.

Student Recognition/Principals Honor Roll:  Each quarter students whose grade point average is 3.5 or higher will receive a certificate to acknowledge this achievement.

Cougar Hall of Fame:  Highlights our most improved students.  Their teachers nominate these students and the students photo and area of improvement are displayed in the school lobby and are changed quarterly.

Every 15 Minutes:  (offered every other year)  This program offers real-life experiences without real life risks.  This emotionally charged program is an event designed to dramatically instill teenagers with the potentially dangerous consequences of drinking alcohol.  This powerful program will challenge students to think about personal safety, and the responsibility of making mature decisions when lives are involved.  This event includes the participation of our Police and Fire departments, High School Staff, Local Hospital, Production Crews, Community Officials, District Attorneys Office and a wide cross-section  of the community to prevent drunk driving.
